Testimonial: infertility, cystic fibrosis and the desire for motherhood

A personal testimony recounting a journey of seven years towards motherhood, marked by infertility, cystic fibrosis and the profound desire to start a family.

October 16, 2015

I decided to create this blog in order to share with you my experience in the long process of fighting infertility. It has been a long journey and there have been many lessons learned. Throughout my journey, and even now, I have enjoyed reading various testimonies on the subject of infertility, motherhood, adoption. There are as many stories as there are people to share them with. Some are positive, others reflect the harsh reality of the difficulty of starting a family. But each testimony allowed me to prepare for all possible eventualities.

In addition, being affected by cystic fibrosis, and as a person involved in the body Living with cystic fibrosis, I wanted to share my experience with all those living with this condition who are hesitant to take this path, or who simply believe that it is impossible. Also, for all parents of children with CF who are in doubt about the future of their child, I hope that you will find some answers to your questions through my texts.

I will try to relate my experience with as much detail as possible about the various stages I went through, so that my testimonies will be useful to you in your approaches and your reflections. But be careful for the faint of heart, a 7-year journey to motherhood is not just easy moments; I have not censored anything about my experience, I am describing it to you as I lived it, with the ups and the downs.

You will therefore be able to follow my couple's journey since 2007, towards our quest to start a family, but this journey will probably never be over, since a positive result is only the beginning...

I could understand that my choices and my situation could arouse judgment in you. Remember that every human being is entitled to their own opinions and choices; so am I. I just want to confirm that I did not embark on this adventure with my eyes closed. At every moment, my husband and I have weighed the pros and cons of our decisions, and we are at peace with the decisions we made. Becoming parents means accepting a certain amount of risk.
