Financial aid for studies

People with cystic fibrosis can access the Loans and Bursaries Program and, under certain conditions, receive financial assistance entirely in the form of a grant in order to avoid debt.

December 10, 2015

People living with cystic fibrosis can access the Loans and Bursaries Program if they do not have sufficient financial resources to pursue vocational training in high school or post-secondary studies.

To benefit from the privileges granted to persons with a major functional impairment, certain criteria concerning the severity of the disability must be met. Among these privileges, we find the possibility that financial assistance is paid in full in the form of a grant (and not in the form of a loan and a grant), which avoids debt.

To allow the Loans and Bursaries Program officials to decide on the severity of your disability, you must include the Medical Certificate: Major Functional Disabilities form with your application for loans and bursaries. You will only have to have this form filled out once by a doctor or physiotherapist.

For more information or to obtain the form in question, please contact Living with cystic fibrosis or visit the Quebec government's financial aid for studies site.
